About the role:

As part of the Shared Services within the Financial Services Department, the role includes the provision of advice and direction to clients that focuses on providing support and delivery of purchasing administration services.

The incumbent will also be required to identify research and analyse the effectiveness and efficiency of specific financial issues and initiatives to ensure integrity and accuracy within the scoped finance functions.

Your duties will include:

- Provide timely accurate customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor and maintain compliance within the financial Management Act, Standing Directions of the Minister for Finance and Victoria Police policies in relation to purchasing and delegations.
- Managing the Purchasing, Supplier and Audit PBEA's.
- Purchase order creation and amendments for Multiple Department and Commands including assets via VPFS Financials.
- Controlling the Supplier master data in oracle including bank account details for all suppliers and ensuring correct governance in place to protect VicPol and payment terms are met.
- Audit – internal controls relating to AP duplicate payments, purchasing breaches contract leakage and supplier controls are maintained.
- Communicating our processes and providing supporting docs to VAGO requests as and when required.
- Ability to regularly plan and track progress on work tasks and to address priority tasks first.
- Address any issues, discuss new policies, procedures, requirements or to reinforce-requirements to users.
- Ability to recognise the formal structure or hierarchy of Victoria Police and its policies and procedures Compliance reporting.




- An understanding of the customer service requirements of the position and a demonstrated record of solid commitment and achievement in meeting customer needs.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

- Experience in providing financial management services across a department or large organisation.
- Ability to recognise the formal structure or hierarchy of Victoria Police and its policies and procedures.
- The ability to use analytical and conceptual skills to reason through problems.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills for liaising with key stakeholders.
- The ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
- Ability to identify processes, tasks and resources required to achieve team, branch and division objectives, and to plan and prioritise work to ensure outcomes are achieved.
- Ability to interpret and apply policy.
- Experience and strong knowledge of the government purchasing policy highly desirable.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of Oracle Financial Systems is highly desirable.

Requirements and relevant information:

- One (1) x full-time, ongoing position available.
- This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
- Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
