Godolphin is one of the largest thoroughbred breeding and racing entities in the world. Encompassing seven countries and two hemispheres. We have an exciting opportunity for a Head Gardener at Northwood Park operation near Seymour, Victoria.

Reporting to the Farm Manager, this position is responsible for the care and presentation of Northwood Park gardens to the highest of standards. This role provides leadership, people management, communication, and collaboration with relevant departments.

The successful applicant should be organised, efficient and a driven individual with thorough attention to detail, have a positive attitude, positive work ethic and be willing to go above and beyond in the role.

Key Responsibilities include:

- Implementation of gardens and grounds maintenance and improvement programs, this includes annual planning and scheduling according to budget and operational needs and priorities.
- Supervise daily work routines including grounds care and maintenance, mowing, edging, watering, and weed control in accordance with seasonal and operational requirements.




- Responsible for providing support and assistance to Stud management as required, including event preparations, in addition to other tasks as required.
- Provide contemporary team leadership including leading by example, regular communication and feedback and development and training of staff.
- Responsible for supervision and management of staff including recruitment, leave, induction, performance management, discipline and employee relation issues.

Criteria:

- Experience in leading and managing an operational team and applying contemporary people management practices.
- Well-developed knowledge of, and experience in safe use and operation of machinery and equipment associated with parks and garden maintenance.
- Horticultural experience and qualification.
