Excellent opportunity for a talented HSE Advisor to work on a recent build Defence project!

Your new company
Our client, a local company specialised in construction of commercial, industrial, residential and government facilities, is recruiting a talented HSE Advisor to work on a new build Defence Building project on a FIFO roster from Darwin.

Your new role
As a HSE Advisor, you will be responsible to make sure the project is delivered in accordance with the highest health, safety, and environmental standards. This is a full-time position with a 12-month contract and a possible extension. The first couple of months will be based in Darwin working on the company's local projects, before starting the FIFO roster (2:1 with a standard working day of 10 to 12 hours) on the Defence project.
Your key responsibilities will be:

- Review, monitor and audit the activity on site to ensure the implementation of the HSEQ program.
- Conduct site inductions for the staff on site and assess training needs if required.
- Organise and conduct toolbox meetings.
- Identify and assess any foreseeable risk arising from the workplace or work processes.
- Conduct risk and incident investigation when required.




- Manage the Safety Management System and Safety database.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role you will have:

- Significant experience working as a HSE Advisor, developing, and implementing HSE Management and Improvement Plans.
- Previous experience working in the construction industry.
- Relevant certification (Certificate IV or higher) in Occupational Health and Safety.
- Ability to facilitate Risk Workshops (HAZID), developing Risk Assessment (JSA/SWMS) and verifying critical control effectiveness.
- Prior exposure to risk-based incident investigations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
