About the team
UWA is making significant investments in the Information and Technology Services to enable its strategic direction and goals. UWA is also looking to utilise technology advancements to expand its services and create new and creative teaching and research models.
Robust, flexible, integrated and agile enterprise architecture, information and technology services are vital to enabling the university strategic objectives.
About the opportunity
As the appointee you will have a significant role in managing and leading a technical team in the support and development of enterprise applications. This will involve designing solutions that meet business objectives, providing technical leadership to the team, and collaborating with business stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes.
You will provide recommendations on all aspects of solutions design to inform the decision-making by the Solutions Manager/s. All solutions will be required to align with the IT Strategy, governance frameworks and overall enterprise architecture.
About you
You are passionate about leading and contributing to quality enterprise software development, achieving team and wider IT goals, and supporting your customers.
You will be a dependable, self-starting problem solver and logical thinker, able to assume team goals,
yet work independently to make them happen. You will have a background as a capable developer within a structured IT environment, and following necessary processes and standards to deliver quality and value.
Critically, you will be a leader for your team within the Enterprise Applications portfolio, a partner to our customers, and through engagement and consultation with them and other teams will see both opportunities and constraints, and work with them to achieve the best possible outcomes in solutions, delivery and support.
To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate :
- Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent competency
- Substantial and extensive experience in solution design including business process integration in large and complex environments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and high level consultation and negotiation skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team, including planning, setting goals and managing team workloads and performance
- Demonstrated experience in setting design and development standards, methods and processes
- Demonstrated experience in designing solutions with particular focus on integration and performance across varied internal and external environments
- Demonstrated experience in translating business requirements into the design of solutions that meet customer expectations
- Strong understanding of modern development methodologies, preferably in a C#.NET environment, and with experience in Azure Application and Integration development
- High-level ability to develop conceptual diagrams, wireframes, visual mock-ups, usage scenarios, navigation maps and prototypes
- Comprehensive knowledge of a broad range of technologies and technology trends
- ITIL Certification or demonstrated experience in ITIL processes is desirable
- Working knowledge of the Higher Education sector is desirable
