The role

Reporting to the Director, Legislative Policy Unit you will direct, lead and manage major legislative reviews and other significant legislative projects in the health portfolio. You will develop detailed legislative policy on complex and sensitive issues that have State-wide implications, including detailed research into, and analysis of, legislative policy issues. This role will be responsible for providing authoritative advice on complex technical and legal issues relevant to legislative reviews and other legislative projects.

Furthermore you will assist in the development and evaluation of staff development activities, including staff induction arrangements, performance management, and mentoring of staff in the performance of their duties

The successful person

To be successful in this role you will have a comprehensive understanding and a breadth of experience in developing policy on complex and sensitive legislative issues and the capacity to provide authoritative written and oral advice to executive management and the Minister on such issues. You wil have the demonstrated ability to direct, lead and manage complex policy projects in a complex and changing environment.





In addition you will have outstanding knowledge of the functions and operations of Government in developing legislation, and the strategic legislative policies of Government.
