We are searching for a focused Mechanic to join our diverse team at Busways Group in Port Macquarie 2444, NSW.

The Opportunity

Our workshop staff play a critical role within the business to ensure our ever-evolving fleet of vehicles are continually maintained to the highest standard to keep our staff and passengers safe out on the road. We are currently looking for self-motivated individuals to join our team as Mechanics within our Port Macquarie depot:

Applications from experienced Light Vehicle qualified mechanics encouraged (ideally you will have minimum of 4 years experience) , we will provide ongoing training and development, including Heavy Vehicle Brake courses in house, presented by a registered TAFE teacher.

With the right set of skills and qualifications, we are offering attractive rates and allowances that include;

1. $38 to $42.50. per hour (inclusive of Allowances) and will be dependent on your trade qualifications, skills and the Region you’re employed within
2. Be provided with a weekly Tool allowance to assistance for the purchase and ongoing maintenance of your tool box
3. The ongoing A/C licence renewal cost paid for by the company
4. You will be provided with the opportunity to work overtime hours on a weekly basis (up to an average of 6 hours per week)
5. Overtime hours will be paid at the applicable penalty rates
6. When taking Annual Leave, you will be paid your hourly rate plus the Annual Leave Loading of 17.5%

Role responsibilities

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, this role requires you to have a mature and professional approach with excellent communication skills. Your main duties will include:

- Diagnosing, inspecting, reconditioning, repairing, assembling the fleet and ensuring safety, quality and Busways standards are followed at all times
- Maintaining all company vehicles and assets in accordance with Manufacturer's guidelines
- Ensuring all maintenance work is performed according to company procedures
- Attend breakdowns and carry out any field related mechanical repairs
- Effectively and efficiently communicate any safety or maintenance issues
- Adhering to all Work, Health & Safety requirements whilst performing work duties
- Maintaining clean workshop practices

The successful applicant will have;

- Relevant trade qualifications essential (MVTC)
- Experience in the service and maintenance of vehicles, we would be happy to provide training to assist you in developing these skills
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and company policies
- Sound level of verbal and written communication
- Experience in working in a team environment on daily maintenance and repair schedules
- Be proactive with a drive to finding better ways to continuously improve and be adaptable in a dynamic and growing team
- We are looking for real,



not perfect individuals that are passionate and invested in achieving outcomes
- Must be an Australian Citizen or permanent resident

Heavy vehicle diesel mechanic experience is highly regarded but not necessary as we are willing to train and develop the right individual for the position. Busways provides ongoing training and support to employees based on their level of experience to enable staff to meet our standards.
