Hunter Water provides protected drinking water and reliable wastewater services to over half a million people in the Lower Hunter region. The business is seeking a Network Engineer to join their dynamic Digital Services & Technology team.

About the Role: In this role, you will be responsible for the development and support of Hunter Water's network infrastructure, encompassing WAN, LAN, Cisco/Juniper network equipment, cloud networking, and more. You’ll play a vital part in ensuring the scalability, reliability, and security of the network that supports essential business operations and keeps the community connected.

Key Responsibilities:

- Support and maintain WAN/LAN infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Configure, optimise, and troubleshoot Cisco/Juniper devices for peak performance.
- Administer Cisco Call Manager and VoIP systems, managing call routing and unified communications.
- Implement and manage cloud networking solutions (VPN, SD-WAN).
- Monitor network performance, proactively resolving issues to minimise downtime.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for network expansions, upgrades, and migrations.





What You’ll Bring:

- Over 4 years of experience in network engineering, particularly with WAN/LAN and Cisco/Juniper networking technologies.
- Strong skills in network security, cloud networking, and VoIP technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for diagnosing complex network issues.
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.

Desirable Qualifications:

- Certifications like CCNP or JNCIS.
- Experience with software-defined networking (SDN), cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), and network automation tools.
