About the role

This position will be part of the Program under the Warfighting Networks and Applications Support Organisation (WSO), within the ICT Delivery Division of the Chief Information Officer Group at the Department.

Responsibilities:

- Perform Verification and Validation (V&V;) of relevant capabilities following Defence Test and Evaluation (T&E;) standards.
- Collaborate with the V&V; Manager to plan and execute V&V; activities across different project phases, such as Developmental T&E; and Acceptance T&E.;
- Develop test cases and detailed procedures to verify and validate systems supporting the capability.
- Plan and carry out tests for mission applications in support of Preview T&E;, Developmental T&E;, and Acceptance T&E; phases.
- Conduct thorough reviews of test procedures to identify and recommend improvements.
- Implement process enhancements to boost the efficiency and effectiveness of testing.
- Identify and address any risks or issues related to testing and evaluation, managing them to mitigate impact and ensure successful outcomes.
- Execute final testing of applications to ensure they meet required specifications and are suitable for their intended use.
- Help identify V&V; risks and issues, contribute to mitigation strategies, and escalate when necessary.
- Track, manage, and follow up on defects.
- Support the V&V; Manager with reporting and coordination tasks as needed.

Essential Criteria:

- At least 5 years of experience as a Tester, primarily focused on testing core infrastructure services.
- Proven experience in application development, testing, integration, and troubleshooting within complex Defence or similar projects.




- Proficient in using test management tools such as Microfocus Octane, Application Lifecycle Manager (ALM), or equivalent for test procedure development and defect management.
- Comprehensive understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle, various development methodologies, test and evaluation in DevOps environments, as well as ICT governance frameworks and maintenance operations.
- Solid communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both internal and external stakeholders and project teams.
- Experienced in executing test procedures for large-scale systems and complex system integrations.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

- Prior experience working in a Defence setting.
- Proven expertise in supporting, testing, and validating mission applications or MOTS applications.
- Experience in implementing, assessing, and testing capabilities within a Software Defined Data Center (SDDC) environment.
- Familiarity with Agile and/or DevSecOps delivery models, including testing within these frameworks.
- NV2 Security Clearance is mandatory to have.
