About the role:
Victoria's Sex Offender Registration scheme was established on 1 October 2004 by the Sex Offenders Registration Act 2004 (SORA). The SORA established the Register of Sex Offenders (Register), which is administered by the Chief Commissioner of Police's (CCP) delegate. The purpose of the SORA is for Registered Sex Offenders (RSOs) keep police informed of their whereabouts and other personal details for a period of time and prevent them from engaging in child-related employment.
Reporting to the Senior Sergeant, Sex Offender Registry the Senior Instructor is responsible for the management and facilitation of a range of mandatory training packages for the Offender Management Division, Victoria Police. The role ensures training packages are maintained to a high standard for police across the state, who are responsible for the compliance management of RSOs in the community. The role will also require innovation and self-initiative to assist with the continued enhancement of training to ensure learning outcomes continue to align with organisational priorities to protect the sexual safety of the community.

Your duties will include:
- Capability to design course content, lesson plans, update and maintain training modules and facilitate training
- Assess/evaluate training needs and develop training plans and programs
- Working with Subject Matter Experts (Victoria Police Members and VPS Staff from areas of the organisation involved with the management of RSOs and Supervision Order offenders)
- Contributing to project reporting
- Participating in continuous improvement activities
- Contributing to the evaluation of training
As the successful applicant, you will have:
- Demonstrated experience in training delivery and facilitation
- Ability to work with subject matter experts
- Ability to engage learners and meet their needs
- Experience in developing learning materials
- Experience in working with complex legislation
- High level of adaptability in an uncertain environment
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and/ or other relevant qualifications would be highly preferable.
Requirements and relevant information:
- One (1) x full-time, ongoing position available.
- This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
- This position requires shift work as indicated in the Position Description (as attached to the advertisement).
- The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head. To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
- The successful applicant will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
- In accordance with organisational policy, all Victoria Police employees are required to be fully vaccinated (including a booster vaccination) against COVID-19 or hold a valid medical exception.
