Job Description

We currently have an exciting chance for a PHP Developer to join our Open Data Solutions team. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who is looking to increase their skill set and advance their career with a large organization.

About the Role

This role is expected to take a role in the design, development, and maintenance and provide assistance with the support of ODS products and services.

Analysis and Development

- Designing, coding, testing and installing applications programs up to 75% of the time, either in one major program or a range of programs across multiple platforms
- Conducting design and code reviews, and providing advice and support of more junior members of the team
- Preparing, reviewing, and maintaining systems and program documentation
- Analysis and design of applications programs and databases
- Design and development of application enhancements and assistance with troubleshooting applications programs
- Liaising with, and providing advice to, business analysts to confirm/clarify business requirements




- Provide quality applications that are free of defects, fit for purpose, and designed for ongoing ease of support and maintenance
- Effectively communicate the status of development activities to the relevant stakeholders
- Working across teams and functions to ensure the ongoing health and performance of IT systems are maintained and enhanced
- Consistently responding rapidly to high severity systems problems; resolving them quickly and effectively

About You

- At least 5 years of experience in Programming and Applications Design, coupled with tertiary

qualifications

in Computer Science or a related discipline.
- At least 3 years commercially proven experience in developing applications in PHP.
- Developed knowledge of Object Orientated (OO) analysis and design, OO methodologies and techniques
- Developed skills and knowledge of one of the major relational database packages such as MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server or Postgres
