Newcastle Private Hospital is a 189 bed, acute, private hospital facility co-located on the John Hunter Campus at Rankin Park. Newcastle private is looking for a dedicated social worker that can provide a supportive and coordinated guidance, both clinically and administratively to patients in the Inpatient Therapy program and Outpatient Day Program. Does this sound like you?

Our Social Worker will have a passion for excellence in customer service delivery to join our team.

As a Social Worker your responsibilities will include:

Working independently with the patients and as a multidisciplinary team member of mental health professionals; and to liaise closely with the treating psychiatrist. You will offer a broad range of psychotherapeutic groups and activities, some including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Psychosocial Rehabilitation, Men’s Group, Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy, Psycho education, etc.

Selection Criteria:

Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Social Work

Eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers

Ability to work autonomously

Well-developed communication skills and interpersonal skills

Excellent organisation, time management and self-management skills

Highly developed communication skills and interpersonal skills

Ability to work within and provide leadership within a multidisciplinary team

Commitment to ongoing education and the provision of evidence based practice

Current Australian Driver’s Licence desirable
