Qualifications & experience
- Essential: Broad understanding of metals fabrication and welding gained through welding experience in an industrial environment or automotive body-building.
- Essential: 2-3 years or more in a metals fabrication industrial environment.
- Desirable (but not essential): welding experience in a marine build environment.
- Desirable (but not essential): Trade Certificates in MIG, TIG Welding
- Essential: Proven track record in producing quality weld work to applicable standards
- Essential: Proven ability to problem solve,
take initiative and work without supervision
- Essential: Proven track record in effective communication as part of a team
- Desirable: (but not essential): Proven experience in supervising or advising in a manufacturing team
- Desirable: Undertaken training in Work Health & Safety principles
Tasks & responsibilities
- Read and interpret individual vessel designs and work instructions.
- Fabricate & assemble aluminium hull componentry for new boat builds.
- Work up construction to required stages of boat builds.
- Refine, work, mold and shape aluminium and marine alloy materials.
- Contribute to timely delivery of boats to meet customer orders.
- Contribute effectively to team dynamic with open communication.
- Advise other team members, including apprentices.
- Maintain an organised clean and protected work environment.
- Adhere to Moda and government-mandated policies in work health safety, employment and the environment.
