Port Stephens Veterans & Citizens Aged Care (PSVCAC) are seeking a Grounds Person to undertake gardening and general maintenance duties across all our sites to ensure the physical environment is protected and hazard free for our residents.

The Role:
The Grounds Person will join a dedicated and passionate team, comprising of both internal colleagues and external specialists, who are responsible for providing high quality gardening and other general services, which include carrying out grounds maintenance in accordance with day-to-day gardening schedules to ensure that the physical environment for residents are kept beautiful, comfortable, safe and hazard free.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assisting with all types of mowing, ground works, maintenance and general gardening duties across all company sites.
• Pruning
• Prioritising workloads and responding effectively to gardening requests and changing situations.
• Pressure cleaning
• Cobb webbing
• Solar panel cleaning
• Gutter cleaning and irrigation repairs
• Weeding, planting and mulching
• Lawn spraying
• Rubbish removal




• Ensuring broken or damaged equipment is reported.
• Assisting with cleaning of building facades, solar panels, pressure cleaning and entertainment areas.
• Assisting with swimming pool maintenance.
• Using appropriate strategies to promote self-esteem, dignity, integrity, safety, security and comfort to residents.
• Positively interacting and communicating with clients, employees, volunteers and visitors.

About You:
• Experience in a similar position is desirable but not essential.
• A customer service approach and a ‘can do’ attitude.
• Ability to work well as part of a team environment.
