Overview of Position
The Maintenance and Calibration Officer role is primarily responsible for managing all Vaxxas equipment to ensure they remain calibrated and in good working order. This position will also be responsible for documenting all maintenance and calibration activities in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMPs), relevant regulations and international standards.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Create and execute audits of Vaxxas equipment.
- Operate and maintain the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and equipment management system.
- Plan/organise, and if required execute, calibration of equipment, services and systems.
- Plan/organise, and if required execute, preventative maintenance for equipment, services and systems.
- Manage external calibration and maintenance contractors.
- Ensure the Quality Management System (QMS) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements are met.
- Maintain safety and GMP quality standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering is highly desirable.
- Technical qualifications or experience in maintenance and calibration are essential.
Desired experience and skills
- Ability to follow processes and comply with Equipment Records and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical/medical device equipment, services and systems.
- Proven track record with effective planning and execution.
- General knowledge of regulatory compliance as specified by various regulatory agencies (e.g. TGA and FDA etc.).
- Working knowledge of tools and approaches related to maintaining the CMMS.
- Experience in contract management.
- Demonstrated knowledge in equipment management.
- Ability to follow procedures with high attention to detail and accuracy, seeking continuous improvement of process.
- Comfortable working in a rapid-paced, rapidly changing environment; a willingness to learn and to seek answers to problems and issues and propose solutions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and technical writing.
