The Maintenance Support Employees perform general labourer tasks to support the Maintenance Area Teams who are responsible for ensuring customers receive consistently high quality and reliable water, wastewater, stormwater and recycled water services through the provision of complex network operations and maintenance services.

Responsibilities of the role:

Perform general labourer tasks to support Maintenance Area Teams including:

- Clean-up and restore worksites
- Wastewater clean-ups after sewer overflows
- Assist experienced crews on-site
- Locate assets indicated on maps
- Use of power tools and machines (e.g., Excavators) when needed
- Handle and transport materials and equipment
- Follow instructions from supervisors to perform manual labour tasks (e.g., digging, site restorations, wastewater clean-ups)
- Assist other crew members by delivering materials and equipment necessary to complete projects on time

Requirements and skills:

- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods of time, heavy lifting,



working outdoors in all weather conditions)
- White Card
- Positive communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to safety policies and procedures
- Basic computer/ phones skills (i.e. Microsoft applications and take photos)
- Reliability and punctuality
- Familiarity with power tools and machinery is desired but not essential
- Ability to attend any site across Sydney Water’s operational area

Willingness to obtain:

- MR licence
- National Police Check
- Paid Working With Children Check
