JOB DESCRIPTION
The Wastewater Maintenance Worker will work in collaboration with the Section Leadership Team and in consultation with the community to assist the Water and Wastewater Team in providing an effective water operation and maintenance service to the Townsville community
MAIN DUTIES
The main role is to assist Wastewater Gangers and Vac Truck Operators on jobs.
Main duties within the role include:
- Office based tasks
- Pump Station maintenance
- Maintain Wastewater house drains, gravity and pressure mains
- Attend to house drain & mainline blockages
- Manhole inspection and maintenance
- Repairs / Replacement of Manholes
- Operation of Tripper and Excavator
- Drainage Investigation (Push Cameras)
SKILLA AND ATTRIBUTES
- Ability to participate in on-call roster and overtime arrangements, as required
- Current Queensland "MR"class licence
- Confined Space Entry ticket
- White Card
- Current Drainers licence - Desirable
- Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B Vaccination
- Sound understanding of WHS Act, Regulations and other associated Legislative documents, including the national Plumbing and Drainage Standard AS/NZ 3500.2.22003 and the Plumbing and Drainage Act and Regulation
- Workers rotate on-call roster Wednesday - Wednesday (May be required to work at Night)
