Bailey Abbott are now seeking a Data Engineer to join our high performing team. Our data intelligence specialists work within an active community of practice, enabling you to benefit from their years of collective experience and wisdom.

The Data Engineer will have a strong understanding of data architecture principles, including data modelling, data warehousing, data integration, and data governance.

- Design and implement efficient data pipelines that can handle large volumes of data
- Design, develop, and maintain efficient database solutions using tools like MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Cassandra
- Create and maintain dashboards and reports that provide insights into data trends and patterns




- Design and implement data security and privacy solutions that protect sensitive data
- Work collaboratively with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to design and implement data solutions that meet business needs

Requirements

- Strong technical background in data architecture, programming, big data technologies, databases, cloud computing, and data analytics

- Proficient in programming languages such as Python, Java, and Scala and should be in scripting languages like Bash and PowerShell
- Experience working with cloud computing platforms like AWS, Azure, and GCP

- Familiar with big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, Hive

- Know how to work with distributed file systems like Azure Blob Storage, Data Lake, HDFS and object stores like S3

- Familiar with cloud-based data storage and processing services like Azure SQL Database, Cosmos DB, Data Lake, Stream

- Good understanding of data analytics and visualisation tools like Tableau and Power BI

- Ideally have experience with Machine Learning, Cognitive services, Databricks

- Strong understanding of data security and privacy regulations and best practices
