Well established city council is looking for an experienced DBA / Application Analyst

Hybrid working model | 3 months contract + possible extensions | $700 per day circa

About your role

The purpose of the role is to assist in maintenance, in line with IT Strategic and architectural plans, to support core business functions and assure their high availability and optimisation. Providing technical support on all levels of business applications and databases. In addition, the role will also be responsible for the administration and maintenance of corporate databases.

- Assist in the development and maintenance of formalised solution methodologies and architectural repositories.
- Document and maintain the organisation’s existing technology portfolio.
- Coordinate and work in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders in the planning, implementation and delivery of major and minor projects.
- Model business and system processes based on findings through use case scenarios, workflow diagrams, data models and other industry recognised techniques.
- Provide customer service excellence in a professional, efficient and responsive manner to internal and external customers,



in line with industry best practices.
- Provide support to requests in areas of responsibility logged with ITSM.
- Provide technical support to all service units in relation to Business systems to support business requirements.

Skills/Qualifications:

- Proven experience in administration and maintenance of corporate databases in MS SQL Server environment
- Proven experience in administration and maintenance of Power BI and related support issues
- Advanced knowledge of SQL: ability to write complex queries and optimize performance using indexes, stored procedures, and other techniques.
- Expertise in database administration tasks: ability to install, configure, and maintain MSSQL instances, including managing security, backups, and disaster recovery.
- Experience with advanced features such as replication, Always On availability groups, and data warehousing.
- Demonstrated skills in implementing business systems through analytical and investigative skills, especially as to underlying principles rather than practices.
- Specialist knowledge in Corporate Information systems and databases in business environment and working knowledge in Decision Support Systems.
