We are looking for a Lead Data Engineer to join a critical transformational program, that will build a current HR platform from the ground up using the latest cloud technologies. This program will build a new digital experience for our Macquarie users and your role will be to design and build the data transformation and integration patterns across our HR platforms and deliver a first-class experience to our employees globally.

To succeed in this role, you need to be a self-motivated team player, well-rounded data engineer, with a solid understanding of best practices and frameworks for data processing, integration, transformation, and analytics.

You will be a valued member of our team if you have excellent problem solving and communication skills, enabling you to engage with all levels of stakeholders. Ideally, you will also bring to the role:

- strong experience driving architectural data solution design and taking end-to-end ownership for its development, deployment, and support.
- experience designing and building data exchange integration layers between multiple systems
- strong knowledge of Spark (preferably using Python) and experience implementing data pipelines




- in depth knowledge of big data querying tools such as Presto or Impala
- experience with AWS using tools like Redshift, MySQL, PostgreSQL, S3, IAM, and RDS
- good understanding of data architecture principles, data warehousing, ETL and data modelling concepts
- experience with CI/CD tools and working in an agile environment
- broad knowledge of technical solutions, design patterns, and code for complex applications deployed in distributed computing environment.
