The Engagement & Vocational Education Portfolio coordinate a number of student recruitment activities aimed at School Leaver and Non-school Leaver (on-campus and off-campus), recruitment events and campus tours.
These recruitment activities require the Ambassadors to represent RMIT University by talking to our various audiences about their program of study, as well as general information about study options at RMIT and the student experience.
Ambassadors will represent RMIT University through;
- Delivering presentations focused on the discipline areas at RMIT. Presentations run between 10– 30 minutes, on a particular discipline of study, and also include broader aspects of study and life at RMIT.
- Attending Recruitment events where they will talk to prospective students and other stakeholders about their discipline and their program of study.
- Campus tours – conduct a 30 – 45 minute tour of the campus focusing on key aspects of their area of study.
Ambassadors may be required to travel to off campus locations in a timely manner. Current Australian drivers licence preferred
Key Duties
- Learn and present lecture style presentations to prospective students on a specific area of expertise.
- Lead or contribute to question and answer sessions with various audiences
- Attend relevant training and professional development sessions.
- Represent RMIT in a positive manner to external parties.
- Organise transport to and from presentations.
- Willingness to work with student recruitment staff to develop specific presentations based around their experience and key communication messages.
- Represent RMIT at recruitment events, speaking with prospective students about their program of study
- Conduct campus tours of RMIT with a focus on their area of study. Position Description – RMIT Student Ambassadors
Key Selection Criteria
Successful candidates will:
- Have experience in public speaking, or an eagerness to develop such skills.
- Have an interest in, or experience working with people of all ages.
- Demonstrate initiative and work with minimal direction.
- Demonstrate professionalism including being reliable and punctual. • Currently studying at RMIT.
