Care Worker – Community & Centre-Based Respite
Location: Sinnamon Park | Hadden Place Respite Centre
At Wesley Mission Queensland (WMQ), our Care Workers play a vital role in supporting people to live with dignity, independence, and connection. More than a job, this is a chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of people across aged care and disability services — every single day.
You’ll be based at Hadden Place, a specialised day and overnight respite centre located in the modern Dovetree building at Sinnamon Village, overlooking peaceful bushland. Hadden Place offers a calm, welcoming, and culturally inclusive environment where customers feel secure, supported, and at home.
About Hadden Place
Hadden Place provides day programs, social outings, and 24/7 overnight cottage-style respite for people aged from 18 years through to older adults, including those living with dementia and higher care needs.
About the Role
As a Care Worker, you’ll support customers both in the community and within the Hadden Place respite centre, including overnight stays. You’ll build meaningful relationships, understand individual needs, and support people to stay connected, engaged, and comfortable.
You will:
- Provide personal care including showering, dressing, continence support, and personal hygiene
- Assist with meals, medication support, and activities of daily living
- Support social inclusion, engagement, and meaningful activities within the centre
- Assist with transport for shopping, appointments, and community participation
- Provide in-home support such as meal preparation, light housekeeping, and laundry
- Deliver care in line with individual care plans and WMQ values
- Support centre-based respite care, including overnight cottage respite as required
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for all customers
What We’re Looking For
- A compassionate, enthusiastic, and person-centred approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with people across aged care and disability services
- Respect for diversity, culture, and individual choice
Essential Requirements
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence and willingness to drive as part of your role
- Registered and comprehensively insured motor vehicle
- Certificate III in Individual Support (or equivalent)
