Cooktown MPHS is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join their team on a seven-week contract from September through early November 2026. This rural generalist role spans the Emergency Department, Acute Ward, and Theatre, offering the chance to work across multiple clinical areas in a regional healthcare setting. The position is based in Cooktown, Queensland, and offers a salary range of AUD58.95 to AUD76.20 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Preferred Requirements
- Minimum five years of acute care nursing experience
- Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications
- Triage qualification and demonstrated experience in emergency department settings
- Acute ward nursing experience with ability to manage multiple patient presentations
- Theatre skills in either anaesthetics or scrub/scout nursing
Preferred Qualifications
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse in Australia
- Formal qualification or demonstrated competency in emergency nursing practice
- Theatre nursing qualification or equivalent perioperative experience
