Randstad is proud to partner with the leading provider of construction and strategic building maintenance services for the Queensland Government. We are currently seeking an experienced Workplace Health & Safety Advisor (AO5) for an immediate start in Cannon Hill.

With an initial contract through to the end of January 2027 this position is likely to extend or be appointed permanently.

Responsibilities

- Conduct site WHS&E; audits and inspections to ensure compliance for both QBuild and contractor-delivered work.
- Provide specialist WHS&E; advice to operational, supervisory, and management staff regarding QBuild Safety Management System (SMS) processes and legislative compliance.
- Develop and deliver information sessions to educate staff on relevant health, safety, and environmental activities.
- Investigate and report on WHS&E; incidents, including contractor notifiable events.
- Support worker rehabilitation and return-to-work programs under the guidance of the RRTW Advisor or WHS Manager.
- Coordinate emergency planning and response activities for QBuild offices and depots.
- Draft, review, and implement SWMSs, risk assessments, and WHS Management plans.

Mandatory Requirements

- Certificate IV in WHS (highly desirable) and proven WHS&E; experience within construction or maintenance industries.
- Strong knowledge of industry hazards, risks,



and standard control measures.
- Ability to interpret WHS legislation, Codes of Practice, and Australian Standards.
- Current Open Class C Driver's Licence (QLD) or equivalent.
- Requirement to undergo a criminal history check prior to appointment.
- Current Australian working rights (evidence will be requested as part of the applicatin)

It is expected that the successful candidate will possess robust oral/written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. They will display initiative, attention to detail, and have the ability to work autonomously and unsupervised whilst contributing to the wider team's objectives of ensuring service delivery exceeds expectations.
