Burger Urge is an established restaurant business committed to providing high-quality food and excellent customer service. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Retail Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Burger Urge restaurant located at Palmerston

About the Position

The Retail Manager will be responsible for managing the restaurant’s daily operations, supervising staff, maintaining service and food-quality standards, managing stock and costs, and ensuring the business operates efficiently and in accordance with Burger Urge policies and applicable workplace and food-safety requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

- Managing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant;
- Recruiting, training, supervising and supporting restaurant employees;
- Preparing staff rosters and ensuring appropriate staffing levels;
- Monitoring employee performance and workplace productivity;
- Maintaining high standards of customer service;
- Responding to customer enquiries, feedback and complaints;
- Monitoring stock levels and ordering food, beverages and other supplies;
- Liaising with suppliers and monitoring the quality of goods received;
- Managing restaurant budgets, operating costs and sales targets;
- Maintaining accurate business,



payroll and inventory records;
- Ensuring compliance with food-safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements;
- Implementing promotional and operational strategies;
- Monitoring the presentation, cleanliness and overall operation of the restaurant; and
- Reporting on the restaurant’s financial and operational performance.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must have:

- A relevant AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma, or an equivalent overseas qualification; and
- At least 12 months of relevant full-time work experience in retail, restaurant, hospitality or quick-food management.

Relevant additional work experience may be considered where an applicant does not hold the required formal qualification.

- Strong leadership and staff-management skills;
- Excellent customer-service and communication skills;
- Experience managing restaurant or retail operations;
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities;
- Knowledge of stock control, budgeting and cost management;
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced workplace; and
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays when required.
