Gilroy Catholic College is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Art & Photography Teacher to join our vibrant learning community. About the Role
As a Photography and Visual Arts Teacher, you will deliver high-quality, student-centred learning experiences in Photography and Visual Arts within a Catholic educational setting. Essential requirements include:
A strong knowledge of Visual Arts and Photography curriculum, pedagogy and contemporary practices, with the ability to deliver engaging and meaningful learning experiences across Stages 4-6.
The ability to develop students' creative, technical and critical thinking skills through practical and theory-based learning experiences.
A demonstrated understanding of how to differentiate learning to meet the diverse needs, interests and abilities of students and maximise their learning outcomes.
Sound knowledge of effective learning environments, lesson planning, assessment practices and the use of technology to enhance student engagement and learning.
The ability to inspire and motivate students to explore their creativity, develop confidence in their artistic practice and foster a lifelong appreciation of the visual arts.
A commitment to ongoing professional learning and the continual improvement of teaching practice.
The ability to work creatively and collaboratively within the school community and contribute positively to co-curricular opportunities, exhibitions and creative initiatives.
A passion for supporting students to achieve their personal best while setting high, achievable expectations for learning and creative expression.
Qualifications, Accreditations and Experience
Tertiary Qualification in Education (or fourth year student)
NESA Accreditation (Conditional Accreditation also accepted)
Statements of Service
Commitment to meeting CSPD's Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead requirements as part of employment
