A Cadet / Junior Estimator position with a Civil and Retaining Wall contractor based in South East Queensland. This role is ideal for someone with basic estimating experience, strong AutoCAD skills, and a positive, can-do attitude who is keen to grow within the civil construction industry.
Key responsibilities
- Review and interpret drawings and tender documentation
- Assist in preparing BOQs, take-offs and tender submissions
- Measure quantities using AutoCAD and CostX
- Support the Senior Estimator in analysing scope, risks and pricing
- Assist with tender schedules, letters of offer and amendments
- Liaise with clients and internal teams during the tender process
- Attend site inspections as required to assist with tender understanding
About you
- Some experience or solid interest in estimating (civil background preferred)
- Would suit a 2nd year Under Graduate in Civil Engineering,
Quantity Surveying Estimating or Construction Management
- Have a minimum of 1 years experience in CAD and Quantity Surveying is preferred
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel
- Basic knowledge of estimating processes and quantity take-offs
- CostX experience is an advantage but not essential
- Methodical, organised and able to meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
- Willingness to learn and work in a hands-on environment
