Narellan Pools is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Crane Operator/Dogman to join our team at our Stapylton, QLD facility. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in our manufacturing and logistics operations. As a Crane Operator/Dogman, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials and pool components throughout our production and distribution environment. This position is integral to maintaining our operational efficiency and ensuring the safe delivery of our products to customers across Australia.
Key responsibilities
- Operate cranes and lifting equipment safely and in accordance with all relevant regulations and company policies
- Conduct pre-operational inspections of cranes and associated equipment to ensure they are in safe working condition
- Communicate effectively with dogman personnel and ground crew using hand signals and radio communication
- Position and secure loads safely, ensuring accurate placement and adherence to load limits
- Monitor load movements and surrounding work areas to prevent accidents and injuries
- Maintain detailed records of equipment operation and maintenance requirements
- Assist with the coordination and movement of materials within the manufacturing and warehouse areas
- Perform dogman duties including attaching and detaching rigging equipment, signalling operators, and guiding loads
- Operation of gantry crane to demould pool shells
- Support the maintenance team by identifying and reporting equipment faults or safety concerns
- Participate in regular safety training and toolbox meetings
What we're looking for
- Valid High-Risk Work Licence (HRWL) for crane operations (Load Shifting Cranes category or higher)
- Current dogman certification or willingness to obtain certification
- Proven experience operating mobile in manufacturing or logistics environments
- Strong understanding of Australian Standards and WorkSafe regulations relating to crane operations
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work collaboratively with ground crew
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety practices
- Physical fitness and ability to work in various weather conditions
- Attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure
- Valid driver's licence (preferred)
- Experience in the pool or building materials industry (advantageous)
