About the Team:
The Business Operations team plays a pivotal role in ASL’s success, driving delivery of strategic, contractual and legislative commitments with agility and impact. We support the delivery of major programs with transparency and accountability, lead enterprise-wide initiatives that transform operations and embed new ways of working, including digital enablement.
We are accountable for enterprise planning and performance, financial management, risk, governance and procurement, shaping ASL’s future through integrated planning and insightful reporting.
About the Role & Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Head of Enterprise Compliance & Assurance, the Senior Compliance Advisor plays a key role in strengthening ASL’s compliance culture and supporting effective governance, risk management, and internal controls.
The role leads the maintenance and continuous improvement of ASL’s Enterprise Compliance Management Framework and Compliance Program, while partnering with business units to provide practical compliance advice, guidance, and support. Working closely with Line 1 teams and subject matter experts across the organisation, the role promotes a culture of accountability, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
The role covers several core areas and fundamental responsibilities within, including but not limited to;
- Partnering with business leaders to identify, assess and manage compliance obligations across their portfolios
- Providing practical advice on legislative and regulatory requirements, ensuring obligations are understood and effectively implemented
- Contributing to Line 2 Assurance and compliance program development and recommend improvements to support strategic goals
- Supporting the ongoing development, implementation and continuous improvement of the enterprise compliance framework
- Conducting compliance risk assessments and assist stakeholders to design and strengthen controls
- Monitoring regulatory developments and emerging compliance risks, providing timely guidance to the business
- Developing and reviewing compliance policies, procedures and supporting documentation
- Delivering compliance training, awareness initiatives and education programs to build organisational capability
- Fostering a collaborative, solutions-focused approach that enables the business to achieve its objectives while maintaining strong governance standards
- Leading and delivering the compliance assurance program, including planning, testing, reporting, remediation tracking and control effectiveness reviews
About You:

Role Requirements:
- Robust understanding of regulatory compliance frameworks and governance principles
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence at all levels
- Experience developing or enhancing compliance frameworks, policies and governance processes
- The ability to interpret legislation and translate complex regulatory requirements into practical business solutions
- An analytical thinker who can think outside the box to solve complex problems
- A flexible worker who can adjust their capabilities to suit a variety of stakeholders
- A proactive approach with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment and with the ability to work autonomously
- Tertiary qualifications in accountancy, law or related field is preferred
