WCP Civil is expanding its regional delivery capability and is seeking an experienced Civil Supervisor to lead major construction projects across Western Australia. This is a hands-on leadership role within our Regional Construction Division, delivering bulk earthworks, roadworks, pavement construction and drainage works.
About the role
You will be responsible for the safe, efficient and high-quality delivery of site activities. Working closely with the Project Manager and site team, you will coordinate employees, subcontractors, plant, materials and daily work fronts to achieve the project program, budget and specification requirements.
A robust understanding of production rates is essential. You must be able to assess expected outputs for bulk earthworks and road construction activities such as excavation, load & haul, moisture conditioning & compaction, final trim and pavement construction work and translate those outputs into practical daily targets. You will monitor actual production against plan, identify constraints early and adjust labour, plant, sequencing or methodology to maintain productivity and protect the project program and cost position.
Key responsibilities
• Plan and coordinate daily and weekly works across earthworks, roadworks, pavements and drainage activities.
• Track actual production and plant utilisation against the plan, communicate variances and implement timely corrective actions.
• Lead pre-starts, allocate work clearly and ensure crews understand priorities, productivity expectations and quality requirements.
• Build a respectful and productive site culture, address performance or behavioural issues promptly and support the development of team members.
• Coordinate labour, plant, materials, survey, testing and subcontractors to keep work fronts ready and minimise downtime.
• Maintain strong safety and environmental standards and actively participate in risk assessments, toolbox meetings and incident prevention.
• Utilisation of project software to provide accurate daily reporting on quantities, resources, delays, risks and progress to the Project Manager.
