ABOUT THE ROLE
Barker College is currently seeking an experienced Full-time Procurement Manager based at our Hornsby campus.
The Procurement Manager is a standalone role responsible for leading and coordinating procurement activities across Barker College to ensure efficient, consistent, and value-for-money purchasing practices. The role centralises procurement processes, strengthens supplier management, supports staff in purchasing decisions, and contributes to improved operational effectiveness across the school. The position also oversees all tender processes, ensuring transparent, compliant, and commercially sound procurement outcomes. This role is intended to reduce administrative burden, strengthen procurement governance, and enable the more strategic use of School resources.
Responsibilities include –
- Procurement Operations; including setting up procurement processes and overseeing all tenders or works
- Supplier Management; Establish and manage preferred supplier arrangements where appropriate. Monitor supplier performance, service levels and value for money.
- Procurement Governance and Compliance
- Identify opportunities to streamline purchasing processes and reduce administrative workload Stakeholder Support
- Coordinate and oversee all tenders for works projects, ensuring compliance, quality, and timely deliver
ABOUT YOU
- Strong experience in procurement, purchasing, supplier management or a related commercial role.
- Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse information and identify improvement opportunities.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
