At ANZUK Group, safety is about more than systems and compliance. It's about making sure our people feel supported, protected and cared for at work.
We're looking for a Work Health & Safety Officer to help us create safer workplaces, support people when incidents occur, and continually improve how we manage health and safety across our business.
It's a hands-on role combining WHS, incident management and injury management, with plenty of opportunity to make a practical difference.
Why Join Us?
- Flexible 25-32 hour working week across five days
- School-hours friendly
- Hybrid working
- Work from either Collingwood, St Kilda Road or Notting Hill offices
- Genuine autonomy and trust
- Work closely with an experienced Safety Manager
- Opportunity to influence and improve our approach to safety
- Global organisation with plenty of opportunity to grow
The Role
Working closely with our Safety Manager, you'll support the day-to-day delivery and continuous improvement of health and safety across ANZUK. You'll manage workplace incidents and injury cases, support people through recovery and return to work, contribute to our Health & Safety Management System, and help our teams build safer ways of working. Importantly, you won't just respond when something goes wrong. You'll look for trends, identify risks and help turn what we learn into practical improvements.
What You'll Do
- Manage workplace incidents, hazards and near misses from reporting through to resolution
- Conduct and support incident investigations and corrective actions
- Manage workers' compensation claims and injury cases
- Support injured people through recovery and return to work
- Coordinate suitable duties and return-to-work plans
- Partner with managers, insurers, medical and rehabilitation providers
- Support our Health & Safety Management System, audits and workplace inspections
- Identify trends, emerging risks and opportunities for improvement
- Deliver practical WHS advice, training and guidance to our teams
- Help build engagement and a positive safety culture across ANZUK
Flexibility That Actually Works.
This role is designed to offer genuine flexibility.
We're looking for someone available across five days per week, working approximately 25-32 hours (0.6-0.8 FTE). Compact daily hours mean it can work particularly well around school or other commitments.
You'll also have access to hybrid working and can work from our Collingwood, St Kilda Road or Notting Hill offices.
What You'll Bring
You're someone who combines strong WHS knowledge with good judgement and a genuinely people-focused approach.
You're comfortable dealing with sensitive situations, but equally enjoy getting upstream, understanding why things happen and finding practical ways to make work safer.
You'll bring:
- Experience in WHS coordination, injury management or a related role
- Return to Work Coordinator training/accreditation
- Sound knowledge of WHS,
workers' compensation and Return to Work requirements
- Experience managing workplace incidents and investigations
- Experience supporting workers' compensation claims and return-to-work processes
- Confidence working with managers, injured workers, insurers and medical providers
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail
- A proactive, practical approach to continuous improvement
A Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety or equivalent and experience in higher-risk operational environments would be highly regarded.
Perks Along the Way
- Flexible, school-hours friendly working arrangement
- Hybrid working environment
- Multiple Melbourne office locations
- Career development and qualified learning
- Wellbeing initiatives and EAP support
- Beny membership and employee discounts
- Social clubs, committees and team connection initiatives
- Annual Gala and team celebrations
- Career opportunities across our global business
