Ohana for Youth is seeking an experienced and highly capable Deputy Executive Principal – Teaching and Learning to provide strategic educational leadership across our growing portfolio of schools and educational programs.

This is a senior leadership chance for an educator who can combine deep curriculum expertise with the ability to lead, influence and build the capability of teachers and school leaders across multiple campuses.

Reporting to the Executive Principal, you will be a senior partner in the organisation's educational leadership, driving consistency, quality and continuous improvement across curriculum, pedagogy, assessment, intervention and teacher capability.

The position is based at Varsity Lakes, with regular travel required between campuses, including regional travel. There is also the option to be based at Ohana College, Meadowbrook, depending on the successful candidate's circumstances and organisational requirements.

You will lead the development and implementation of teaching and learning strategy across the Ohana education portfolio, working closely with Principals, Deputy Principals, curriculum leaders and teaching teams.

Key responsibilities include:

- Leading whole-of-portfolio curriculum strategy and continuous improvement
- Ensuring curriculum delivery is aligned with the Australian Curriculum v9.0 and Queensland senior schooling requirements
- Overseeing senior pathways including QCE, QCIA, ATAR, VET and RTO-based pathways
- Leading pedagogical improvement, differentiation, literacy and numeracy strategies
- Developing teacher capability through professional learning, instructional coaching, mentoring and professional development
- Leading assessment quality, moderation, achievement tracking and educational data strategy
- Overseeing Individual Curriculum Plans and tiered academic intervention
- Supporting the continued development of creative and fit-for-purpose teaching and learning practices across Distance Education
- Working with school leaders to improve educational outcomes, teacher capability and consistency of practice
- Ensuring compliance with QCAA, QCT, NSSAB and relevant regulatory requirements
- Providing strategic educational advice to the Executive Principal and contributing to organisational planning and Board reporting




- Leading and influencing educational practice across multiple campuses and diverse learning environments
- Deputising for the Executive Principal as required
- Leading a team of six direct reports and working closely with senior leaders across the organisation

We are looking for an exceptional educational leader who can combine strategic thinking with the ability to translate strategy into meaningful improvements in classroom practice.

Our 3 Must-Haves

Experience leading teaching and learning
Demonstrated experience leading curriculum, pedagogy, teacher capability and educational improvement, ideally across multiple sites or at a system/network level.

Deep working knowledge of the Australian Curriculum v9.0 and senior pathways
Strong knowledge of the Australian Curriculum v9.0 and Queensland senior schooling, including QCE, QCIA, ATAR, VET,



RTO pathways and QCAA requirements.

Ability to impart knowledge and inspire action
An influential and engaging leader who can build capability, challenge thinking, communicate clearly and inspire teachers and school leaders to turn strategy into action.

Nice to Have

We would also value:

- Experience in a similar portfolio, executive or senior educational leadership role
- Experience within the Special Assistance School (SAS) sector
- Strong experience developing and implementing broad-scale teaching and learning strategy
- Experience leading curriculum improvement across multiple campuses or educational settings
- Experience with teacher capability frameworks, instructional coaching and professional learning
- Experience with curriculum data, assessment and student information systems
- Experience in complex, alternative, re-engagement or flexible learning environments
- Experience with Individual Curriculum Plans and tiered academic intervention
- Experience leading moderation, curriculum development, innovation and RTO compliance/VET delivery in a school setting

Other Requirements
- Current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) is mandatory
- Current driver's licence and willingness to travel between campuses, including regional travel, is mandatory
- Postgraduate qualifications in education or educational leadership are desirable
- Demonstrated commitment to Child Safe Standards and the Reportable Conduct Scheme
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong data literacy and an evidence-informed approach to decision-making
- Commitment to high expectations and improved student outcomes
- Strengths-based and student-centred approach to education
- Commitment to culturally responsive and inclusive educational practice
