Australian Alliance to End Homelessness
Adelaide
About us
Ending homelessness is possible, but it is a shared responsibility that requires a collaborative effort across all levels of government and society to ensure we have adequate housing, appropriate health services and support services available to those who need it the most.
The Australian Alliance to End Homelessness has developed a 10-year strategy to end homelessness through a whole of community-based response. The Strategy outlines five core areas and nine targets to prevent, respond to and end homelessness in Australia.
A core part of this strategy is the AAEH AtoZ database, a suite of collaborative tools and data capabilities that enable communities to coordinate action and measure progress toward ending homelessness. The Product Lead - Data & Analytics will drive the vision, development, and continuous improvement of AAEH’s data and analytics products, ensuring they deliver meaningful insights and support evidence-based decision making across Australia.
What we offer
- This position is offered on a fixed-term, 12-month contract.
- The role may be undertaken on a remote or hybrid basis, with candidates required to be based in South Australia.
- Adaptable working arrangements are negotiable, including condensed work weeks and adjusted start or finish times.
- Generous leave entitlements, including 5 weeks of annual leave.
- Salary Packaging benefits up to $15,899 per annum.
- Be a part of the National movement to end homelessness in Australia.
Key Responsibilities include:
Product Strategy & Leadership
Define and lead the product vision, roadmap, and priorities for AAEH’s data and analytics capabilities.
- Align product strategy with organisational goals and the national strategy to end homelessness.
- Act as the key liaison between technical teams, stakeholders, and leadership.
Data & Analytics Product Development
- Oversee the design and delivery of data products, dashboards, and analytics tools (e.g. Power BI and related platforms).
- Ensure products are user-centred and meet the needs of frontline services, communities, and policymakers.
- Drive continuous improvement based on user feedback and emerging needs.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into actionable product features.
- Communicate product updates, insights, and value to a broad range of audiences.
Delivery & Ways of Working
- Lead agile product delivery processes,
including backlog prioritisation, sprint planning, and release management.
- Collaborate with data engineers, developers, and analysts to deliver high-quality products.
- Ensure effective governance, documentation, and reporting across the product lifecycle.
Data Governance & Quality
- Promote strong data governance, privacy, and security practices across all products.
- Ensure high standards of data quality, integrity, and usability.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- Identify opportunities to enhance data capability, reporting, and insights.
- Stay informed on emerging tools, trends, and best practices in data and analytics product management.
Power BI reporting governance
- Govern the operational delivery of Power BI reporting across Australia. Manage change requests, assess metric and logic impacts, communicate changes to frontline stakeholders, and ensure national reporting consistency.
Microsoft Dynamics 365 CX — product ownership
- Own product-level changes to our D365 case management configuration. Write functional briefs, coordinate testing with the Power Platform engineer, and manage the impact on data quality and downstream reporting.
Testing, QA & release sign-off
- Define test cases, coordinate regression testing and UAT with non-technical users, manage defect intake and retesting, and make go/no-go decisions for production releases.
Incident & problem management
- Triage live incidents, communicate to stakeholders, coordinate resolution, and run structured post-incident reviews with preventative action plans.
Requirements & functional design
- Translate stakeholder needs into functional specifications, user stories, and operational requirements. Maintain process flows, decision records, and support runbooks.
Stakeholder enablement & support
- Coordinate end-user technical support for frontline workers and community partners across Australia. Maintain knowledge articles and drive adoption across national reporting tools.
Websites, domains & integrations
- Manage operational responsibilities for websites, domains,
and secure data sharing arrangements supporting the product ecosystem.
The successful candidate will have:
- Demonstrated experience owning delivery and operations for a live digital or data product end-to-end — including releases, incidents, support, and continuous improvement
- Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps: work item management, branching, CI/CD pipelines, change control, and release documentation
- Operational experience with Microsoft Power BI in a live governance environment — managing change requests, assessing metric impacts, and communicating changes nationally — not just report authoring
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or equivalent CRM/case management platform at a product or configuration-ownership level
- Experience creating and maintaining test cases, coordinating UAT with non-technical users, managing structured defect resolution, and making release sign-off decisions
- Proven ability to translate stakeholder needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications without BA support
- Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum or Kanban) with hands-on backlog ownership — not just Agile awareness
- Commitment to AAEH's mission and ability to thrive in a lean, remote-first, resource-constrained environment
We'd also like the candidate to have:
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric or similar cloud data platforms
- Knowledge of housing, homelessness, or community services systems
- Relevant certifications: CSM, CSPO, ITIL, Microsoft Power Platform, Azure DevOps, or product management
We encourage applications from individuals who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and/or Lived or Living experience. Employment with AAEH is subject to satisfactory background checks, including a National Police Check and Reference Checks.
