The Opportunity
Join our Information and Improvement team and play a key role in delivering technology projects that help shape how Council works and serves the community. As our ICT Project Manager, you'll be the dedicated project management specialist within a team-oriented team of five and work closely with technical experts, business stakeholders, vendors and leaders across the organisation to turn ideas into practical outcomes.
This is a varied role where you'll combine strategic project management with hands on involvement in technology initiatives. You'll have the opportunity to lead projects from concept through to implementation and business transition while helping teams adopt new ways of working and realise the benefits of digital improvement. You will be supported by a team that values collaboration, innovation, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

This is a full-time 35 hour per week Parental leave term contract position till October 2027 possibility of extension. Salary from $113,911 up to $132,199 per annum plus superannuation (Salary package will be assessed based on skills, experience and qualifications)
How you'll make a difference
You'll help deliver technology enabled projects that improve services, systems and outcomes across Council by:
- Leading ICT projects from planning and business case development through to implementation,
transition and post implementation review.
- Developing project plans, schedules, budgets, governance documentation and reporting frameworks.
- Coordinating project resources, vendors, contractors and subject matter experts to achieve agreed outcomes.
- Managing project scope, risks, issues, dependencies and change activities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Supporting business units to implement new technologies, improve processes and successfully adopt change.
- Building strong relationships with stakeholders and providing clear communication, advice and project updates.
- Evaluating and implementing technology solutions that align with Council's strategic and operational objectives.
- Managing project handovers to operational support teams and ensuring sustainable long term outcomes.
- Monitoring project performance to ensure delivery against agreed timeframes, budgets and objectives
About you
You're an experienced ICT Project Manager with a strong track record of delivering technology, digital transformation and business improvement projects in complex environments. You bring expertise in leading projects from concept through to implementation, ensuring solid governance, effective stakeholder engagement and successful business outcomes. Comfortable managing multiple concurrent projects, you can balance competing priorities while maintaining focus on delivery, risk management and achieving strategic objectives.
You are more than a project manager. You have a solid understanding of technology and can work closely with technical specialists, vendors and business stakeholders to develop and implement practical solutions. You are confident preparing business cases, project plans and delivery roadmaps, and have experience guiding organisations through technology enabled change. Your ability to build relationships, influence outcomes and communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders enables you to successfully deliver projects in fast paced environments. Ideally, you will have experience working within a large, complex government organisation or a similarly complex environment,
although this is not essential. Most importantly, you are collaborative, adaptable and committed to delivering meaningful outcomes through technology while demonstrating Council's values of Respect, Integrity, OneTeam, Sustainability and Courage.
