About The Role
Join Naracoorte Health Service as a Services Assistant and play an important role in supporting the delivery of safe, effective and high-quality health services.
In this varied role, you will provide catering, cleaning and general housekeeping services across the health unit. Duties may include preparing, plating and delivering meals, cleaning and maintaining work areas, operating relevant equipment and undertaking laundry duties as required.
Working as part of a supportive team, you will follow established procedures and safe work practices while helping maintain a clean, comfortable and welcoming environment for patients, staff and visitors.
About You
You are a reliable and flexible team member who takes pride in providing a high standard of service. You work well with others, communicate effectively and can follow instructions while managing day-to-day tasks. You understand the importance of cleanliness, food safety, infection control and providing respectful service within a healthcare environment.
To succeed in the Services Assistant role, you will:
- Have experience in, or the ability to undertake, housekeeping, cleaning, cooking/catering and laundry duties.
- Demonstrate the ability to work effectively within a team and provide assistance and cooperation to other staff.
- Have a flexible approach to work and rostering, with the ability to work across different settings and meet required deadlines.
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal, communication and numeracy skills and the ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds.
- Have basic knowledge of safe working practices, Food Safety Standards,
Infection Control Standards and customer service principles.

Conditions of Employment
- A current Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC) for employment involving unsupervised contact with vulnerable groups is required for this position.
- You must be flexible and willing to participate in a 7-day roster, working varied hours/shifts across different settings.
- Immunisation Risk for this position is – Category A
- SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy
