FIFO / DIDO Poly Welder / Operator

Dewatering & Water Management Projects | Ex Perth | $55–$70/hr

We’re seeking experienced Poly Welders / Operators to join a growing WA-owned business delivering key dewatering and water management projects across mining and civil sites throughout Western Australia.

Down the Line (DTL WA) is a Western Australian-owned company specialising in water infrastructure, dewatering, water management, project delivery, and equipment hire across the mining and resources sectors.

Due to continued growth, we're seeking experienced Poly Welders / Operators to join our FIFO project teams delivering major dewatering and water management projects across regional Western Australia.

This role is suited to candidates who have hands-on experience with HDPE pipeline installation, poly welding, and operating heavy plant within mining, dewatering, water transfer, or civil infrastructure environments.

Please note: Applicants without Poly Welding certification and HDPE pipeline experience will not be considered.

About the Role

As part of our project delivery team, you'll be responsible for the installation, maintenance and commissioning of HDPE pipelines and associated infrastructure used in dewatering and water management systems on mine sites across WA.

This is a FIFO/DIDO role ex Perth with project-based 2:1 OR 3:1 rosters and ongoing work available for the right candidates.

Key Responsibilities

• HDPE butt fusion, electrofusion, and extrusion welding

• Installation and maintenance of dewatering and water transfer pipelines

• Reading and interpreting construction drawings and project specifications

• Operating excavators, telehandlers, loaders, and other support equipment

• Pipeline alignment, testing, commissioning,



and site setup activities

• Completing weld records and quality documentation

• Conducting pre-starts and basic equipment maintenance

• Working safely in accordance with site and company procedures

• Supporting project teams to deliver high-quality outcomes safely and efficiently

Essential Requirements

✔ Current Poly Welding Certification (Butt Fusion & Electrofusion)

✔ Proven experience with HDPE pipeline installation

✔ Experience working on dewatering, water management, mining, or civil infrastructure projects

✔ Current HR Driver's Licence

✔ Current National Police Clearance

✔ Excavator, Loader and/or Telehandler Tickets

✔ Ability to read and interpret technical drawings

✔ Strong commitment to safety and compliance

✔ Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening

✔ Ability to work in remote FIFO environments

• Previous mine site experience

• Water management or dewatering project experience

• Poly extrusion welding experience

• Confined Space and Working at Heights tickets

• First Aid Certificate
