Dawson Mine is seeking motivated and safety-focused individuals to join our team as Apprentice Auto Electricians. This is an exciting opportunity for Moura and Banana Shire residents to earn while you learn, gaining hands-on experience maintaining and repairing some of the largest and most advanced mining equipment in Australia.

Job Description

During this 4-year apprenticeship, you’ll be working alongside experienced tradespeople, you'll develop the skills and knowledge required for a rewarding career maintaining some of the most advanced heavy mining equipment in Australia.

- Assist with the maintenance and repair of heavy mining equipment
- Learn fault-finding and diagnostic techniques
- Support planned maintenance, inspections and breakdown repairs
- Develop skills working on engines, hydraulics, powertrains, braking systems and mobile equipment
- Follow safe work practices and contribute to a positive safety culture
- Work collaboratively within a high-performing maintenance team
- Complete all apprenticeship training and study requirements

Qualifications

- Have a genuine interest in mechanical equipment and how things work
- Are reliable, motivated and eager to learn
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to safetyHave good communication and problem-solving skills
- Enjoy working as part of a team
- Hold a current Driver's Licence or are working towards obtaining one
- Finishing Year 12 this year and looking for your next career opportunity
- Previous mechanical, automotive or electrical experience is advantageous but not essential.
