We currently have a vacancy in our Catering department for a skilled full-time Cook. We are seeking a Cook with a can-do attitude, focus on food safety, and a passion for great food and service to join our kitchen team.
We are a large modern licensed Club in the heart of the Toowoomba CBD. We operate 7 days a week with an extensive menu and restaurant food service being a predominant driver of the business.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Ensure efficient and timely food preparation and delivery of meal services
- Clean, sanitise and maintain cooking utensils, equipment and food preparation areas
- Ensuring accurate portioning and that special dietary requirements are observed
- Ensuring all OH&S; compliance is achieved, adhere to safe work practices and safe food handling procedures
- Contribute to menu planning in collaboration with other Cooks and Chefs
- Contribute to workplace culture by displaying high levels of customer service and contributing ideas
- Follow correct safe handling techniques to transport and store food items
- Knowledge of chemical handling
We seek:
- Commercial Cookery Certificate IV
- Previous experience in a busy commercial kitchen environment
- The quality of good time management skills & the ability to work well under pressure
- A cook with a solid emphasis on food quality and presentation
- Maintain a clean and safe environment
- A calm & confident attitude with strong communication skills and the ability to work harmoniously in a team environment
