The Landmark Resort Nelson Bay is seeking an experienced and reliable Maintenance Team Member to join our motivated and hardworking maintenance team on a casual basis.
Working as part of a small team, you will play an important role in maintaining the resort, ensuring our building, guest rooms, equipment, fixtures and common areas are kept to a high standard.
This is a hands-on position suited to someone who takes pride in their work, has a practical approach to problem-solving and enjoys working in a hospitality environment.
About the Role
The successful applicant will be customer service focused, highly motivated and reliable, with previous experience in a similar maintenance or handyperson role. You will need to be comfortable working independently, as well as contributing positively within a small team.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Clean and maintain common areas of the resort to a high standard.
- Carry out general repairs and maintenance throughout the resort and guest rooms, including patching, painting, basic plumbing, carpentry and preventative maintenance.
- Respond to guest maintenance requests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Identify and rectify maintenance issues promptly and, where appropriate, without requiring direction.
- Contact and coordinate external tradespeople when required and follow jobs through to completion.
- Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of resort equipment, fixtures and fittings.
- Assist other team members when required to ensure the resort operates efficiently.
- Maintain a safe, clean and organised work environment at all times.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a maintenance, handyperson or similar role.
- Strong practical and problem-solving skills.
- A trade background, particularly in construction or building, would be highly regarded but is not essential.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a small team.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and initiative.
- Physically capable of performing the requirements of a busy hotel maintenance role.
- Commitment to protected work practices and WH&S; requirements.
- Availability to work a minimum of one day per week, with the opportunity for additional shifts during peak periods, including weekends and public holidays when required.
