Skilled Care is looking for one caring and reliable person based in Narrabri, Moree or the surrounding area to join a paid Home Care Support Worker traineeship.
This is a permanent part‑time role with a guaranteed minimum of 15 hours per week, combined with paid training towards your Certificate III in Individual Support.
No previous aged care experience is required.
What You’ll Receive
- $34.42 per hour + super
- Guaranteed minimum 15 hours per week

- 3 hours of paid live online training each week
- Complete your Certificate III in Individual Support while you work
- Travel time between clients paid at your hourly rate
- Kilometre allowance for work‑related travel
- Practical experience and support while you build your skills and confidence
You’ll be earning an income, gaining practical experience and working towards a nationally recognised qualification at the same time.
About the Role
As a Home Care Support Worker Trainee, you’ll help older people continue living safely and independently in their own homes.
Your day may include:
- Providing companionship and social support
- Helping with everyday household tasks such as meal preparation, laundry and light cleaning
- Supporting clients with shopping, appointments and errands
- Assisting clients to remain connected with their local community
- Providing friendly conversation and emotional support
- Learning practical care skills with guidance from experienced team members
Travel Is an Important Part of This Role
This is a community‑based position supporting clients across the Narrabri, Moree, Boggabri and Wee Waa areas, so you’ll need to be comfortable driving between clients and communities as required.
The regional run can include travel of approximately 45 minutes to Boggabri and 30 minutes to Wee Waa, depending on your schedule and client needs.
The good news is that travel time between clients is paid at your normal hourly rate, and you will also receive a kilometre allowance for work‑related travel.
For this reason, you’ll need your own reliable car, a valid driver’s licence and a willingness to travel as part of your working day.

What You’ll Need
- Your own reliable vehicle
- A valid driver’s licence
- Willingness and ability to travel across the local service area
- Willingness to obtain the required Police Check and worker screening checks
- Ability to meet the eligibility requirements of the traineeship
Your Training
You’ll work towards your Certificate III in Individual Support alongside your employment.
You’ll receive 3 hours of paid, live online training each week, giving you dedicated time to learn, ask questions and develop your skills while putting what you learn into practice on the job.
