The Opportunity

An opportunity is available for a Consultant Intensivist to join a well-established Intensive Care Unit within a major regional referral hospital in Victoria. This role offers a broad and hands-on critical care scope, managing high-acuity medical and surgical patients across trauma, sepsis, and peri-operative care. You will work within a structured, consultant-led environment with strong multidisciplinary collaboration. It is well suited to Intensivists seeking clinical autonomy, variety, and a stable regional ICU setting.

The Hospital

This is a large regional hospital of approximately 300 beds, serving as the primary acute referral centre for the South West region.

The ICU includes:

- Dedicated ICU and HDU beds
- 24/7 ventilatory and critical care support
- Close integration with Emergency and Anaesthetics
- Designated regional trauma centre
- Peri-operative critical care services
- Established referral pathways to tertiary centres





The unit operates within a collaborative multidisciplinary model, supported by junior medical staff and consistent consultant presence.
