The Role
As a Senior School HSIE Teacher, you will bring energy, passion, and expertise to the classroom, delivering engaging curriculum sequences that integrate a Christian worldview and foster critical thinking.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach HSIE across Stages 4–6, catering to diverse learning needs through effective differentiation.
- Embed research-based strategies and ICT to expand curriculum learning opportunities.
- Contribute actively to the pastoral care program and vibrant co‑curricular life of the College (e.g., sports, lunchtime clubs, or music ensembles).
- Maintain protected, inclusive, and supportive learning environments aligned with NESA standards and Child Safe practices.
- Engage collaboratively with parents, carers, and the broader school community.
Selection Criteria
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
A recognized teaching degree (e.g., Bachelor of Education or undergraduate degree plus post‑graduate teaching qualifications) and eligibility for NESA accreditation.
HSIE Teaching Expertise
- Essential: Demonstrated experience teaching Stage 6 and Stages 4 & 5 HSIE.
- Desirable: stage 6 Geography and/or Business Studies
An active personal Christian faith, commitment to the ethos of independent Anglican education, and active involvement in a local church.
Proven ability to differentiate instruction, integrate literacy/numeracy strategies, and create inclusive, safe learning environments.
Collaborative Approach: Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with a track record of fostering collaborative professional relationships.
Compliance: A current paid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance.
Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Start Date: Term one 2027
Hours: Standard school hours (8:15 am – 3:45 pm), plus weekly staff (Tuesdays until 5:00 pm), and co‑curricular commitments.
Responsible To: Head of Humanities
