About the team:

This role is part of a close-knit team of finance and administration professionals providing vital business and commercial support to the Children, Young People & Families (CYPF) service at John Hunter Children's Hospital.

About the role:

Reporting to the Management Accountant, the Finance Officer plays an important role in supporting the effective financial management of Children, Young People & Families services.

This diverse position offers a mix of daily, weekly and monthly responsibilities, along with a variety of project work and ad-hoc requests, ensuring no two days are the same.

Key responsibilities include:

Providing administrative and financial support across the service

Assisting with financial reporting, analysis and month-end processes

Processing invoices, procurement requests and budget adjustments

Responding to financial and operational enquiries from stakeholders

Supporting process improvements and business initiatives

Assisting Management Accountants with projects and financial activities as required

About you:

You are a motivated and detail-oriented finance professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and managing a varied workload.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:





Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, accounting or a related discipline (or be currently studying towards these qualifications) and/or relevant recent experience

Strong financial literacy and understanding of accounting principles

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities

Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities

Well-developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills

A commitment to providing high-quality customer service
