Position: Cook

Salary: $79,000 - $85,000 per annum plus 12% Superannuation

Hours: 38 hours per week

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Cook to join our kitchen team. The successful applicant will support the preparation and service of The Proprietor’s seasonal brunch and lunch menu, ensuring dishes are prepared efficiently, consistently, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Inspect and prepare fresh, locally sourced ingredients to ensure quality and suitability for service.
- Prepare and cook a range of brunch and lunch dishes in accordance with recipes and kitchen standards.
- Monitor and adjust ovens, grills, cooktops, and other kitchen equipment to achieve consistent cooking results.
- Season and finish dishes appropriately, ensuring balanced flavour and presentation.
- Portion and plate meals accurately, including the appropriate use of sauces, garnishes,



and accompaniments.
- Maintain appropriate food storage, temperature control, stock rotation, and hygiene practices.
- Prepare meals according to customer dietary requirements, including relevant allergy and dietary requests.
- Assist with daily preparation, service coordination, and maintaining an organised and efficient kitchen.
- Work collaboratively with the Head Chef and kitchen team to maintain consistent food quality during busy service periods.

Qualification

- Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (Preferred but not required)
- Minimum 1 year experience as a Cook or similar role

Skills & Experience

- Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, portion control, and food safety.
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy café environment.
- Robust attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to follow recipes while maintaining consistency in flavour and presentation.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Food Safety Supervisor certification or willingness to obtain is desirable.
