About the opportunity
The Trainer & Assessor Development Officer is responsible for strengthening the volunteer workforce to ensure the sustainability of training delivery within the NSW SES. The role enables the successful recruitment, retention, development and support of our essential volunteer Trainers and Assessors.
Working from an NSW SES Zone Headquarters, the role undertakes functions to understand the agency’s needs and provide coaching in the use of SES training procedures, endorsement practices, RTO requirements, templates and supporting systems, to promote and ensure consistent, effective and compliant delivery of training.
This role requires travel to other locations across the NSW SES, including out of business hours and weekends.

About you
- have experience working in a Registered Training Organisation (RTO);
- support the development of geographically dispersed Trainers and Assessors;
- be a practical, supportive training professional who enjoys helping others build confidence and capability;
- bring experience in training delivery, assessment and/or trainer development, and you understand the importance of consistent, compliant and learner-focused training practices;
- have the ability to plan and prioritise projects, communicate with various individuals or teams, and support diversity is an important factor of the role;
- be confident in providing advice on RTO requirements and having some proven extensive facilitation experience and coordination of accredited/non-accredited training, including through flexible learning environments (face to face, virtual and hybrid delivery);
- be able to work in a volunteer organisation.
