The Role

We're looking for an experienced Estimator to own the costing, tendering, and bid writing function for XXL™. This is a critical commercial role where you'll be the person who turns a client brief and a set of structural drawings into a compelling, accurate, and competitive proposal.

You’ll work closely with the Directors to assess tender opportunities, build detailed cost models, manage subcontractor and supplier pricing, and ensure our bids are sharp, compliant, and positioned to win. You’ll also play a key role in the early commercial setup of awarded projects.

This role suits someone who is comfortable working independently, thrives on technical detail, and wants to be part of a company that builds genuinely interesting structures.

Key skills and experience required





- Construction estimating experience, ideally a blend of commercial, industrial, and residential
- Ability to read structural drawings, engineering specs, and tender documents
- Solid grasp of cost drivers (materials, labour, fabrication, transport, site works)
- Proficient in estimating software and willing to adopt new software and technologies
- Proven tender submissions that have been awarded
- Qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, or Quantity Surveying
- Familiarity with QLD construction regs and QBCC requirements
- Exposure to design-and-construct, ECI delivery, or government projects

You’re detail-oriented, commercially sharp, and self-managing, someone who communicates clearly, works well with a team, and is open to improving how things get done.
