Remuneration: Salary $114,198.59 per annum (pro-rata) plus superannuation

Location: Werribee based. This role may be required to work across multiple locations throughout the Wyndham Municipality

About the role

As one of the Lactation Consultants in our Breastfeeding Support Service team, you'll provide specialist breastfeeding education, guidance and support to women and families, empowering them to achieve their infant feeding goals with confidence. Using your clinical expertise, you'll deliver evidence-based care while promoting best practice and continuously developing your own knowledge and skills.

Working within a breastfeeding support service team, you'll be part of a wider, multidisciplinary team of Maternal and Child Health Nurses, Immunisation Nurses, Child and Family Resource Officers and Family Violence practitioners, supported by an experienced leadership team that values collaboration, learning and professional growth.

This is a varied and rewarding role in a fast-paced community health environment where you'll use your clinical judgement, initiative and teamwork to deliver high-quality care. You'll also have access to ongoing professional development, opportunities to expand your expertise, and the support of your Team Leader when navigating complex situations.

What your day will look like

- Provide evidence-based breastfeeding education, guidance and support to women and families through a variety of settings, but not limited to home visits, centre appointments, telephone and virtual consultations.
- Provide input and support into referrals and bookings to help ensure families can access timely breastfeeding support.
- Work alongside Maternal and Child Health Nurses and other professionals to provide coordinated support for families.
- Share practical,



evidence-based information and resources to help women overcome breastfeeding challenges and achieve their feeding goals.
- Build trusted relationships with families and community partners while promoting the benefits of breastfeeding across the Wyndham community.
- Maintain accurate client records and contribute to service reporting to support the ongoing delivery and improvement of the program.

What you will bring

- Current Lactation consultant IBCLC qualification; current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) either as a registered nurse division 1 or registered midwife.
- Sound knowledge of evidence-based practice in the area of lactation.
- Demonstrated experience in supporting mothers to breastfeed and providing accurate evidence-based information to families regarding breastfeeding.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with parents Maternal and Child Health Nurses, community agencies and services.
- A current valid Victorian Drivers Licence and a privately owned motor vehicle.
- A current employee Working with Children Check is required
