The Lifestyle Assistant is part of the Culture & Wellbeing team, with responsibility to support the delivery of a person-centered life enriching Culture and Wellbeing program, to meet resident needs across the spectrum of recreation, culture and wellbeing. Lifestyle programs are designed to support, challenge and enhance the physical, psychological, social, and emotional wellbeing of residents. Examples include pursuits and hobbies such as crafts, gardening, photography, baking and cooking, games, social connections and computer skills.

Key responsibilities

Under direction of Culture & Wellbeing Manager, ensure effective setup, access, catering and delivery of programs

Ensure venue is returned to its original state and residents are safely escorted back to their rooms at program completion

Supervise external resident outings as required, ensuring residents are safely secured and transported in the bus, in compliance with mobility requirements as documented in Care Plans

Porter residents to and from internal events as required, in compliance with mobility requirements as documented in Care Plans

With a person-centred approach, under the direction of the Culture & Wellbeing Manager, assist with identifying and documenting resident lifestyle needs using electronic assessment and care plan tools in iCare

Document programs, attendance lists and update resident care plans and other documentation as required in iCare to comply with Aged Care Standards and Emmy Monash Policies and Procedures





Prepare reports and reviews as requested by Culture & Wellbeing Liaison Officer

Assist with meals, morning teas, high holidays and special events

Induct, support and supervise volunteers as required, providing direction and support in their allocated roles

Report any issues arising and relevant information regarding volunteers to Culture & Wellbeing Liaison Officer

About you

Minimum Certificate IV in Leisure and Health

Demonstrated experience to deliver lifestyle programs in group and individual settings

Proven experience in Aged Care preferably within a lifestyle, recreational or social program setting

Demonstrated experience operating AV technology and equipment

Good computer skills and documentation of qualified practice using a computer package such as iCare

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Demonstrated experience in a team environment

Demonstrated cultural awareness and ability to foster strong connections with residents and family members

Police Check and Working with Children Check

Ability to accompany and assist with resident mobility, including walking, transfers, and pushing residents in wheelchairs
