Trailer Repair Centre | Braeside VIC | Full Time

Ready to take the next step in your career?

Trailer Repair Centre is a busy, growing trailer sales, parts, servicing and repair business based in Braeside. We work with everyone from weekend boaters and 4WD enthusiasts through to commercial customers and marine dealers, and we’re proud to be a Dunbier & Mackay dealer - some of Australia’s best known names in boat trailers.

We’re looking for an Assistant Store Manager who’s ready to step up, take on more responsibility and develop their leadership skills in a hands on, fast moving business.

This is much more than a traditional retail role. You’ll be involved in sales, customer service, stock, administration and the day to day running of the showroom, while working closely with our Store Manager and the wider workshop team.

The long term opportunity? To develop into a senior leadership role and ultimately take ownership of running the showroom.

Why join Trailer Repair Centre?

We’re a small team, so you'll genuinely have the opportunity to make an impact rather than being just another number.

You'll get:

A competitive salary with room to grow

Performance bonuses possible as you progress

A genuine pathway into a senior management role

Support, coaching and mentoring from an experienced Store Manager

A friendly, hands on team environment

Monday to Friday hours with rotating Saturdays – approximately every second Saturday morning

No Sundays

Easy access and convenient Braeside location

The opportunity to build a long term career in a growing Australian business

The chance to work in an industry that's a little more interesting than your average retail job!

What you'll be doing

No two days will be exactly the same. You'll be helping keep the showroom running smoothly while making sure our customers get great service from the moment they walk through the door.

Your day to day will include:

Serving customers in store, over the phone and via email

Preparing quotes, processing orders and following up enquiries

Helping drive showroom sales and achieve KPIs

Building strong relationships with retail customers and dealers

Assisting with stock, inventory and parts dispatch

Coordinating service bookings and supporting the workshop

Helping manage trailer stock and scheduling

Keeping customer and sales information accurate and up to date

Supporting sales and marketing initiatives and contributing new ideas

Maintaining a professional, well presented showroom

Learning the business and taking on increasing responsibility as you develop

About you

You don't need to know everything about trailers when you walk through the door – we can teach you that.

What we're really looking for is someone who’s confident dealing with people, commercially minded, organised and keen to take the next step in their career.

You'll ideally have:

Previous experience in retail, sales, customer service, administration or a trade environment

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Strong organisation and attention to detail

Good computer skills and confidence learning new systems

A positive, practical approach to problem solving

The ability to work independently while being part of a small team

A genuine interest in boats, cars, 4WDs, motorbikes, the outdoors or anything mechanical

Previous leadership or supervisory experience is an advantage, but not essential

A current Australian driver's licence and the ability to drive and tow trailers

Mechanical, automotive, marine or parts experience is a big plus - but attitude, work ethic and the desire to learn are more important.

Think you'd fit in?

If you're someone who enjoys dealing with people, likes practical products, wants to develop their career and isn't afraid to get stuck in, we'd love to hear from you.

You might already be working in retail, automotive, marine, parts, trade sales or customer service - or you might simply be ready for your first real step into leadership.

If you're looking for a role where you can learn, grow and eventually take ownership of a business area, this could be the prospect you've been looking for.
