An exciting opportunity is available for an Automotive Technical Writer on a 3-months contract (Full time hour), onsite located in the South Eastern suburb . Join a leading automotive organisation, using your automotive expertise to support the delivery of technical publications , service campaigns and product support initiatives across a national dealer network.
This is a varied role combining technical documentation, campaign coordination, stakeholder communication and new product support. You’ll work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure accurate technical information, service publications and customer support programs are delivered on time and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review and publish technical information, service bulletins and repair documentation
- Coordinate technical communications across multiple channels including email, publications and digital platforms
- Manage the review, update and distribution of owner manuals, workshop manuals and other vehicle support materials
- Develop accessory fitting instructions and technical repair procedures
- Coordinate the procurement and distribution of specialised service tools
- Plan, implement and monitor vehicle campaigns including recalls, service programs and product updates
- Track campaign progress,
monitor completion rates and prepare stakeholder reports
- Support new model launches by ensuring technical documentation, service tools and support materials are available
- Manage external information requests and support compliance with relevant automotive legislation
- Drive continuous improvement across technical publications and campaign processes
About You
We’re looking for someone who combines robust technical writing skills with genuine automotive knowledge.
- Strong experience in technical publications, campaign coordination, product support or automotive service operations
- Strong project coordination and organisational skills
- Automotive industry experience and genuine automotive knowledge
- Excellent written communication with the ability to produce clear technical documentation
- Experience coordinating recalls, service campaigns or technical programs
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to work with cross‑functional teams and manage multiple priorities
- A proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset
